| Devon Food Links new website |
Browsers at www.devonfoodlinks.org.uk will notice a few changes. We have upgraded the site to make it easier for us to administer and to keep the content constantly up to date. The old favourites are still there but in a more presentable format: the online food and drink guide is accessible from the “Food From Devon” button and new producers can now enter details on their business directly from the website. Farmers’ Market information is published on the front page – as is a section devoted to news stories on food and drink which is updated every day. Elsewhere we have included recipes from our Farmers’ Market Cookbook series (readers can submit their own recipes) and created separate sections for local food events and training. , 02/11/2004 |
| Celebration of Food rides again |
October was most certainly the cruellest month this year with a deluge here, an inundation there – and a gale most everywhere else. Event holders in this year’s Celebration of Food were undeterred though and the majority of the 78 events were unaffected. As most of the events ran for more than one day, this meant there was an average of 15 food or drink related happenings on any one day throughout the month. With such an embarrassment of riches it is hard to pick any highlights – but poet Jon Hegley’s performance in the pumpkin patch at Shute Fruit and Produce or the sell-out for the Barrel O’Beer’s Devon lunches would have to be contenders. Celebration is likely to be a four week event again next October; make room for it in your diary now! , 02/11/2004 |
| Future of Devon Food Links |
Funding for the Devon Food Links project ends in March next year; we have only five months left to go! Our aim is to continue to provide services to the local food and drink sector which is catering for a growing consumer demand. It is important that that local businesses contribute to our planning and we intend to send out a questionnaire with an outline of our proposed services in the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions about the kind of support you think would most benefit your business or the sector as a whole, we would be very interested to hear from you.
